Submissions

Thank you for thinking of Olive Press Publishing. We look forward to reading your work!

Prepare and polish your complete manuscript. Submit your best work. Please note that we only accept human-created submissions; no AI-generated work will be considered.

At Olive Press Publishing, we have great respect for authors and share your dedication to storytelling and craft. Publishing is, however, a business, and we can only take on a small fraction of submissions we receive. Rejections happen for many reasons. Please remember that a “no” from us is not a reflection on your talent or the potential of your work. Publishing is highly subjective. All it takes is one “yes.”

We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to read your work and wish you every success in finding the right home for your project.

Please Note

Do not submit your manuscript if you have already revealed the cover, hosted ARC sign-ups, or announced a release date. For series, submit only Book 1 and include series details in the form. Clearly disclose any taboo or trigger content. We do not accept queries via email unless they are through agents. Submissions must be full-length novels. We do not accept Middle Grade/Children’s, erotica, poetry, memoir/biography, comics/manga/graphic novels, cookbooks, DIY, self-help, or AI-generated manuscripts.

2

Please Include a Query Letter

Your query letter is the first thing we read, so make sure it’s done properly. It must be personalized to Olive Press Publishing (or a specific editor), not AI-generated, single-spaced, and no longer than one page. Include a hook, title, genre, tropes, word count, a brief pitch, comp titles, and why you and your book are a great fit for Olive Press.

3

Please Include a Synopsis

Your synopsis should be 1–2 pages, single-spaced, written in third person and present tense, and provide a complete summary of your story, including major twists, character arcs, the romance arc, and the ending—do not hide your ending. We prefer manuscripts structured around a three-act format, so if possible, present your synopsis in a way that follows setup, rising action/midpoint escalation, and climax/resolution. A synopsis is the second written thing we read from you, so make sure it sells your story—clear, focused, and engaging, showing both stakes and emotional beats while remaining concise and professional.

4

Please Include the First Three Chapters

Submit the first three chapters of your manuscript, ensuring they are polished and represent your best work. If we are interested, we will request the full manuscript for review.
